We offer two kinds of spacers: polyfelt for brimmed hats with cloth and grosgrain sweat bands and cork for brimmed hats with leather sweat bands.

HOW TO INSTALL SPACERS

Flip the sweat band up

1. Flip up the sweatband on the inside of the hat.

Insert the spacer along the inside edge of the sweat band 2. Insert the spacer against the inside of the hat along the edge of the sweatband and the hat. With polyfelt, the spacer goes all the way around the inside of the hat. With cork, start with just one piece in the back.
Once it's in place, flip the sweat band back down  3. Once it’s in place, flip the sweatband back in place. The strip should be between the sweatband and the hat. Gravity and friction will hold it in place.

STILL TOO BIG? Add the second spacer over the first one (it’s sometimes easier to take them both out, stack them on top of each other and reinstall).

TOO TIGHT? Cut some length off of the strip and reinsert. Still too tight? Cut more off until you find just the right amount.

GAPPING ON THE SIDES? With polyfelt, cut the strip in half, then fold each half in half. Flip up the sweatband and add one folded spacer on each side of the hat. Once they’re in place, flip the sweatband back in place. With cork, place one spacer on each side.

GAPPING AT THE FRONT AND BACK? Cut the strip in half, then fold each half in half. Flip up the sweatband and add one folded spacer at the back and one at the front. Once they’re in place, flip the sweatband back in place. With cork, place one spacer in the front and one in the back.
